Young Democrats of Massachusetts Announce Endorsement of Candidates

BOSTON, Massachusetts — October 13, 2016 — The Young Democrats of Massachusetts, the official youth organization for Democrats in Massachusetts, announced the endorsement of several candidates for positions in the state legislature.

The candidates that the board of directors of the Young Democrats of Massachusetts voted to endorse this week are all Democrats under the age of 36, running for offices in both the State Senate and the House of Representatives. They are:

Eric Lesser, incumbent candidate for state senate, 1st Hampden & Hampshire district
Julian Cyr, candidate for state senate, Cape & Islands district
Moses Dixon, candidate for representative, 17th Worcester district
Dylan Fernandes, candidate for representative, Barnstable, Dukes, and Nantucket district
Natalie Higgins, candidate for representative, 4th Worcester district
Jack Patrick Lewis, candidate for representative, 7th Middlesex district
Jennifer Migliore, candidate for representative, 9th Essex district

“It is our pleasure to offer our support to Eric, Julian, Jack, Jen, Dylan, Moses, and Natalie,” said Matthew Murray, Chair of the Young Democrats of Massachusetts. “Having known and worked with these individuals, it’s clear to us that they understand the issues in Massachusetts, especially the ones that are pressing for young people in the Commonwealth.”

The Young Democrats of Massachusetts endorses candidates that support youth interests as well as other issues in the organization’s platform. Candidates seeking the endorsement of the Young Democrats of Massachusetts were asked to fill out the endorsement questionnaire.

“We’re so lucky to have such great young candidates up for election this year in Massachusetts,” said Murray. “We look forward to supporting our youth candidates as well as those who have our interests in mind.”
