Dear YDM Members,

Please kick off 2014 at one of our State of the Union Watch Parties to listen to President Obama’s plan for the upcoming year and meet Democrats in your community.  Check out all the ways you can get directly involved below including: becoming a convention delegate, joining your local YDM Chapter, and supporting Democratic candidates.

You can read about YDM’s work gathering signatures to #RaiseUpMA, our petition to #UpdateTheVoteMA with Senate Bill 1975, our big kickoff event for our Women’s Caucus, as well as some major Democratic news in our Commonwealth in our monthly update below.

We can’t wait to meet you at our next event or local chapter meeting!

YDM ORGANIZES PETITION TO #UpdateTheVoteMA!

YDM sent out an email to members to add their name to our petition to vote YES on S.1975, an act that would modernize voting in Massachusetts, a long overdue measure.  We are pleased to report that the MA Senate voted a bipartisan 37-1 in favor of the legislation and added several amendments that go even further to ensure a modern democratic voting process.  YDM tweeted the amendment and final vote counts live to excited members.  The House and Senate will continue the process in conference committee and then send a bill to the Governor to sign.  Changes include: Election Day voter registration, online registration, pre-registration at age 16, permanent registration, post election audits, annual clerk training, and more! Stay tuned for more updates and involvement!
